Max Dean a collectionné les albums photos de particuliers. L’événement organisé par l’AGO s’est étalé sur plusieurs jours : une voiture, une Volkswagen de 1966, a été aménagée en support d’exposition pour l’occasion. Les visiteurs pouvaient voir et feuilleter des albums, et éventuellement en adopter un. Une partie de ces albums avait déjà été sélectionnée pour être conservée à l’AGO. J’y suis allée par simple curiosité, et je me suis prise au jeu et suis repartie avec mon album. Quand le visiteur choisit un album, il remplit une fiche pour expliquer son choix et laisser ses coordonnées, afin de faire partie du groupe Facebook dédié au projet et d’en suivre l’évolution.
Mon choix n’avait rien de rationnel, plus un coup de cœur. J’aimais bien le format et surtout la possibilité de pouvoir m’approprier mon album en le personnalisant. J’ai donc dans ma bibliothèque un album avec des photos de parfaits inconnus !
Max Dean has been collecting various photo albums of random people. The AGO organised an event on several days to give them away. A car, a 1966 Volkswagen, had been turned into a small exhibition closet. Visitors could browse through the albums, and if they wished were allowed to “adopt” one by simply taking it home. A selection had already been put aside to be kept at the AGO.
I went there out of sheer curiosity, yet got caught in the game and went home with a little adoptee! Once you have decided on which album you want, you are asked to fill out a form explaining your motivations and give your email so that you can join the Facebook page. My choice was anything but rational, I liked the format and the fact that I was going to be able to build up something personal from it. There goes on my bookshelves an album with photos of total strangers!
