Richard Mosse a réalisé L’enclave en 2013 au Congo ; c’est une installation vidéo de 40 minutes, projetée sur six écrans à Montréal fin 2014 à la fondation DHC/ART (devenue Fondation Phi pour l’art contemporain en 2019) . Les images ont été prises avec un film infrarouge utilisé par l’armée américaine, qui permet de convertir les verts en rouge/rose. Le son est de Ben Frost. Le rendu est assez déroutant – les images sont irréelles, mais la violence et la tension bien perceptibles. L’agencement des écrans dans la pièce ajoute à ce sentiment.

The images were shot with a infrared film used by the American army, which converts greens into red/pink. The soundtrack is by Ben Frost. The result is rather disconcerting – the images seem unreal, yet the violence and tensions of the scene are clear. The way the screens are set in the room increases this feeling.
